Bhai Sahib Bhai Randhir Singh ji emerged as an apostle of Sikh faith who had the singular distinction of being honored by four Takhats and was called the ‘Golden Sparrow’ of Khalsa Panth. He poured his thoughts through stirring Gurbani Kirtans. His writings reflect a glow of mystic experiences and metaphysical clarity of Sikh Theology.
Bhai Sahib alongwith his close associates conducting Gurmat samagams came to be known as ‘Akhand Kirtani Jatha’ since 1905. This jatha has now expanded into thousands of devout Gursikhs throughout the country & abroad. The main activities of the jatha are conducting the uninterrupted Gurbani kirtans without greed or any reward, arranging Akhand Pathhs and Amrit Sanchar Samagams. This jatha is not a separate entity but an inseparable part of Khalsa panth under the sovereign umbrella of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib.
During his busy schedule of kirtan samagams, Bhai Sahib alongwith the Jatha used to visit Delhi during Dushehra holidays and hold kirtan programmes in various historic and other well-known Gurdwaras for a week. The same practice is being followed by Delhi Akhand Kirtani Jatha with utmost devotion, besides arranging the local weekly kirtan samagams throughout the year. Akhand Paths and Amrit Sanchar programmes are also conducted periodically.
Delhi Annual Akhand Kirtan Samagam is considered as one of the most important events of the entire Jatha and thousands of devotees from far & wide assemble to join this samagam.
